Perfect Picnic Muffaletta Sandwich

1/4 lb.

Ham lunchmeat, from the deli, sliced


Round unsliced Italian bread

1 cup

Kalamata olive spread

1/4 lb.

Sliced genoa salami

1/4 lb.

Sliced provolone cheese

1/4 lb.

Mozzarella cheese


  1. Cut bread in half horizontally. Spread the olive spread on one half of the bread.

  2. Layer on the meats and the cheeses. Place the other half of the bread on top.

  3. Wrap tightly in plastic wrap and refrigerate with a heavy flat object, like a frying pan, on top to allow all the olive flavors into the bread.

  4. Refrigerate for at least 1/2 hour.

  5. Slice sandwich into wedges like a pie and serve.
