Chicken tenders, from the deli, hot and spicy recommended

1/2 cup

Plain Greek yogurt

Cloves garlic, minced

2 Tbsp.

Peeled cucumber, minced

1 tsp.

1/2 tsp.

Garlic salt

1/2 tsp.

Sumac (optional)

1 Tbsp.

Fresh mint, chopped

Lemon, squeezed

4 Tbsp.

Kosher dill pickles, chopped

Large pitas or naan bread

  1. Place tenders on a baking sheet. Heat at 350º Fahrenheit degrees for 8 to 10 minutes, or until warmed through. Slice each tender into thin slices.

  2. Meanwhile, whisk together the sauce ingredients: Greek yogurt, garlic, cucumber, pepper, garlic salt, sumac, mint, pickles, squeezed lemon.

  3. Heat a 10” skillet or grill to hot, and toast both sides of each pita or naan bread.

  4. Place a thinly sliced hot and spicy chicken tender down the center of one pita or naan. Drizzle with 1/4th of the sauce, and fold up bread bottom, then roll like a burrito.

  5. Wrap the bottom of the Schwarma with foil for easy eating. Repeat with remaining ingredients. Serve warm or at room temperature.
